My First Influenster VoxBox

About a month ago I joined Influenster, an app/website geared towards sharing, promoting, reviewing and testing products ranging from cosmetics to food. It seemed interesting, but I didn’t have high hopes, to be honest. I figured I would spend a lot of time reviewing products, asking questions about products, linking my social media accounts, and getting basically nothing in return.

Boy, was I wrong.

It wasn’t long before I started “unlocking” badges (Influenster’s reward system to show how active you are and how much “influence” you have). I enjoyed searching for my favorite products, reviewing them and answering questions from other Influensters. I also go the chance to ask questions about products I’ve been wanting to try, and to create lists of my favorite products or ones that I’ve been dying to own.

After about a week and a half, I received an email telling me I was chosen to get a “Fierce Vox Box.” Vox Box’s are boxes filled with free products for Influenster’s to test out, review, write about, and share on social media. I must say, I was pretty pumped to have been chosen!

A few days ago, I received a pretty seafoam green box in the mail. I’m like a child when it comes to getting stuff in the mail. I get way too happy about it!

I opened it up and was excited about a few of the items, but a little disappointed by others. But hey, I can’t complain, it was ALL FREE!

Inside the box was a Madam C.J. Walker Brassica Seed Oil, a packet of ShaeMoisture shampoo and one of a blowout cream, SinfulColors Kandee Johnson nail polish, Carefree Actifresh pantiliners, and a small tub of Vaseline.

So obviously, I was disappointed with the pantiliners (although I DO use Carefree pantiliners anyway and will definitely take a pack for free) and the Vaseline. I’m not sure I’ve ever used Vaseline a day in my life. BUT, maybe this is a great opportunity for me to give it a try, find some good uses — maybe even some life hacks –for it, and have it in case of emergencies? We shall see once I give it a try!

I was also very disappointed that the nail polish had leaked around the lid and was literally impossible for me to open. I was really looking forward to trying it out! But, I completely understand that these things happen sometimes and won’t let it take away from my experience as a whole.

After I have tested all of the products, I’ll give an update and let you know what I think. So far, I LOVE the smell of the Madam C.J. Walker Brassica Seed Oil and would probably buy it just to make my hair smell good, and the ShaeMoisture shampoo and blowout cream seemed to work really well on my frizzy, coarse, wavy hair.

At the end of the day, I would definitely recommend giving Influenster a try, especially if you are already fairly active on social media and/or YouTube. It’s definitely nice to get some free products and see what is trending at the moment!

***Disclaimer: I received these products complimentary to test and/or review and all opinions are honest and my own. 🙂
