Bloganuary #6: Who is someone that inspires you and why?

This is probably the most difficult prompt to answer this month – so far anyway. I guess we are only 6 days in, but I digress. There are so many different people that inspire me for different reasons. I wrote a blog not too long ago about a YouTuber who inspires me, Sarah’s Day. Another YouTuber/yoga instructor who inspires me is Well with Hels (Helen). Her yoga classes are divine, I tell you. And she had really inspired me to practice every single day!

My mom and my son, Landon

I’m also inspired by my mom, who raised me mostly as a single mom and did a damn good job of it, in my opinion. She fought cancer when she was just 49 years old, after losing her sister to it around 15 years prior. She has raised two strong, independent daughters who both love her and want to be around her. Which is impressive because I know a lot of people who do not want to be around their parents. My mom is just an all-around badass and I am so proud to be her daughter.

My son, Landon inspires me as well. I somehow got him to love soccer so much that he goes out in the snow to practice. He watches several professional games every week – maybe even every day to be honest – and really studies the game. He is incredibly knowledgeable about soccer and has so much passion for it. I’ve always been worried he would get burnt out, but he just wants to play more and more and more. I didn’t have a passion for something like that until I was an adult!

I’m also inspired by immigrants all over the world. I can’t imagine the courage and strength it must take to leave your home country to try to find a better life for yourself or your family. No matter how bad your home may be, it is still your home and that decision cannot be an easy one. I’m not totally sure I could do it. I know making that decision can sometimes lead to many difficult days, months, or years even. And I hope that every immigrant is greeted warmly in their new country and given a good opportunity to live a happy life.

My list, of course, could go on and on, but I think this is a pretty good representation of where some of my inspiration comes from.
